Video: An LE-600 Turbine operating an off-grid hybrid power system

This short video shows one of our LE-600 small wind turbines deployed on a hybrid off-grid power system. This particular system is powering data-logging and signalling from a rural train track crossing.

This off-grid system is supplying a load of 55 watts 24 hours a day 7 days a week. During operation of the signalling system the power consumption will rise to 150 watts for short periods.

Power generated from the LE-600 wind turbine and 500 watts peak of solar PV. This energy is stored in a deep cycle battery bank - from where the various sensors computers and signalling systems draw their power.

This system based around a bespoke hydraulic tower. The tower shown here is only 5m high but a 2.5m extension is available which helps present the wind turbine into better wind conditions.
